GPM developed and implemented an employee incentive trip to the island of ice and fire for one of the largest and best-known German financial services companies. The event was based on an exciting outdoor programme that gave all participants the chance to explore the island’s impressive natural wonders, from snow, ice, untouched landscapes and geysers to the impressive Gullfoss Waterfalls. Participants explored a lava beach on a quad tour, conquered a glacier on snowmobiles, and hiked between the continental plates. Activities stretched across three nights as part of a high-end social programme. Two special highlights were the gala in Reykjavík’s modern concert hall and the closing evening spent on the coast with a traditional crab dinner. The choice of location was brave but definitely a recipe for success; not least because the climate and the activities were fairly demanding for the guests. However: this turned out to be the success of the trip. Thanks to perfect planing, the guests were able to discover this special island in a unique way that no holidaymaker could book. Magic moments on the island of Vikings.

Hotel Hilton Reykjavik Nordica

The modern Hotel Hilton Reykjavik Nordica offers wonderful views over the capital’s bay. After an exciting day of adventures, the participants relaxed by shopping, taking a dip in the pool, sitting in the sauna or having a drink at the hotel bar. The hotel’s own gourmet restaurant, VOX, tempted guests with regional and international dishes. The Hilton Reykjavik Nordica boasts all amenities you’d expect to find in a 4-star hotel, complete with 24-hour service.

Hiking tour to the Golden Circle

The group’s tour began on the Golden Circle, a hiking route that leads through the island’s impressive landscape. During the walk, participants explored geysers and Iceland’s most beautiful waterfalls, as well as the most meaningful location on the island: Pingvellir. This location played host to the very first parliament meeting in the whole world, over 1000 years ago. Even more impressive is the geology at this location, as continental plates are visible from the surface in Pingvellir. Participants were able to literally walk between continents in the ravine between the Eurasian and American continental plates. Discover the land of geysers and its breathtaking nature!
