STRATO AG Activity in Berlin

STRATO AG is a global provider of online hosting and business solutions. The company wanted to give their partners a special, unforgettable experience, so tasked GPM with creating a varied programme with a range of activities so their guests could discover Berlin in a more unusual way, with plenty of fun and action. Their wish was our command! The guests were hosted in the boutique hotel Monbijou, centrally located near Hackescher Markt square. They were taken in real Trabis – the cult car from the days of the GDR – to the former east of the city on their first day. After a short driving tutorial with tips about the car’s quirks, the group was split up into teams of 2 and began their tour in Mitte via Karl-Marx-Allee to Alexanderplatz and along the East Side Gallery, one of the longest remaining stretches of the Berlin Wall. The Trabbi convoy was led by an experienced guide, who provided a commentary via the cars’ radios. It was tremendous fun for all involved, and an unforgettable experience. The second activity we came up with for STRATO required a bit more stamina! Participants were able to play golf without the usual restrictions at the Teufelsberg in Berlin’s Grunewald forest, a former US Army listening station. Today, it’s a street art gallery steeped in history. Under expert guidance from an outdoor trainer, the roof was converted into a unique cross golfing location with various flats and obstacles. The bravest participants were given the chance to abseil from the roof to get an extra kick of adrenaline. The evening was spent at Hackescher Markt, a cool part of Berlin bursting with bars and clubs. And that is how you discover the many sides of Berlin from a fresh, new perspective.
